Q&A
Q) What kind of Winnebagos are in the group?
A) Any and all Winnebago Industry camper owners are welcome to join and come on our trips! We have all types of Winnebago Industry manufactured campers; trailers, Class Bs, Class Cs, and Class As. Old and new. It doesn’t matter.
Q) Where do you go on your camping trips?
A) All of our trips are within the state of Wisconsin.
Q) Who sets up the camping trips?
A) Group members volunteer to “host” a trip. They will choose a campground and reserve a block of sites. You will call the campground to put a site in your name and you are responsible for paying the campground for your site. Hosts will also set up the dinner out, and provide some food items for breakfast and the potluck dinner.
Q) When are the camping trips?
A) We have one trip in each of the following months; May, June, August, and September. There is no trip the month of July because that is when the Winnebago Grand National Rally is and many of the group members go to that.
Q) How long are the camping trips?
A) Our trips are officially Tuesday to Thursday, although most members come in on Monday. The reserved block of sites are from Monday-Thursday.
Q) What does a typical camping trip look like?
A) Most will arrive on Monday. There are no scheduled meals or activities on Monday. We set up, socialize, and relax. We usually have a shelter of some type at our disposal. Coffee and some breakfasts items are provided by the Club on Tues, Wed, and Thurs mornings while group members bring other breakfast items, potluck style. Tuesday evening we have a happy hour at the campground (bring a small appetizer), then we go out to dinner as a group. Wednesday evening we have a potluck dinner at the campground. Afternoons are for socializing or sightseeing in the surrounding area. Every night we have a campfire, weather permitting.
Q) Do we need a car?
A) It is not necessary. Many, if not most of the members will be towing a vehicle. We carpool to get everyone to the restaurant dinner. If you plan to explore the area outside the campground, you may want a car.
Q) What about pets? Are they allowed?
A) Absolutely! Many of the members have pets. The campground rules for pets still apply, such as being on a leash, picking up after your dog, and no pets in the buildings.
Q) How do I join your club?
